Once the year 12 results are released, the allocation of awards to students starting university for the first time begins for their main round. The first offers for high achievers are usually made the week before Christmas. When university results are released, awards are distributed to current students. Typically, the first offers are made in early December.
Before submitting applications to a selection committee, the Scholarships Office must wait until all applicants for each award have received their results. This process may take longer than usual if an interstate applicant has applied for the award. Once the Scholarships Office has received all of the necessary information, applications are distributed to selection committees comprised of both university staff and external members affiliated with that specific scholarship.
The Scholarships Office is notified once members of selection committees have met and decided on their preferred recipient. The Scholarships Office will then make a formal scholarship offer to the applicant. If you are successful, the Scholarships Office will send you an email informing you of the offer. You must then respond to the offer by clicking on the online link provided in the email. When an offer is accepted, the Scholarships Office arranges payment by the terms of the offer. Please keep in mind that unsuccessful applicants are not contacted. On the A-Z scholarship listing page info.scholarships.utas.

Applications are sent to committees shortly after the closing date for a smaller midyear scholarship round, and offers are made as soon as the various selection committees return their decisions.
