Applying to some colleges and universities may require a specific grade point average, but in many cases, this is just the threshold you need to pass in order to be admitted.

It helps to aim for the lowest average that gives a reasonable chance of being accepted. For this purpose, the average grade of the current student body is used.

Her GPA in high school must be above her 3.75 to get into Chapman University. A grade predominates, requiring at least a combination of A and B grades.

If your GPA is lower than you would like, you can catch up by taking more challenging courses such as AP and IB.

This indicates that you have the mental toughness to handle more advanced coursework than a typical high school student.

This year it will be difficult to raise her grade point average in preparation for college applications when she is in her junior or senior year.

A higher SAT or ACT score is needed to compensate for her GPA below the median of 3.75. Even if other applicants have higher GPAs, you should stand out from the crowd.
