Following his success in Thelma & Louise (1991), Pitt channelled his charisma as a leading man in films such as A River Runs Through It (1992) and Legends of the Fall (1994), but avoided being typecast by taking on unconventional roles in 12 Monkeys (1995) and Fight Club (1999). Pitt received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood (2019).

William Bradley Pitt was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on December 18, 1963. Brad was raised in Springfield, Missouri, along with his two younger siblings. He studied journalism with a focus on advertising at the University of Missouri. He caught the acting bug in college and decided to relocate to Los Angeles. He dropped out of school just two weeks before finishing his degree and moved to California.
