1. The Fred and Diane Fitts Memorial Flight Training Scholarship by CAA

Dedicated by the Corporate Aircraft Association (CAA) to Fred and Diane Fitts. Before founding the Corporate Aircraft Association in 1990, Fred Fitts was a pilot and FBO proprietor. His wife, Diane, and he created the effective fuel and resource purchasing operation from the ground up. The CAA continues to assist Part 91 operators in improving their efficiency and effectiveness by using the purchasing power of their membership to secure the most competitive fuel costs.

The CAA thinks that by offering these scholarships to young individuals interested in aviation, they would enable future generations to carry on Fitts’ mission of helping others with value and excellence. The Fred and Diane Fitts Memorial Flight Training Scholarship by CAA is the first on our list of AOPA scholarships

Eligibility

  • The age range at the time of application submission: is 17 to 35 years
  • Candidates interested in becoming corporate pilots, CAA members and their family members, and workers of CAA-preferred FBOs and their family members are given preference.

The award is $7,500 for each recipient.

2. The Landsberg Endowment Scholarship – Aviation Maintenance and Avionics

This endowment was established in honour of Captain Neil C. Landsberg, a USAF Special Operations Combat Controller and one of the best in the country. He was the son of Bruce and Jan Landsberg. In order to serve our country, Neil led troops into dangerous situations, and practically every deployment resulted in casualties. As a result of this, he struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder and gave up.

3. The Scott Stuart Flight Training Scholarship

The Scott Stuart Flight Training Scholarship is sponsored by Scott and Jane Stuart via the Imperial Foundation.

4. The Dudley D. and Delores R. Malone Memorial Flight Training Scholarship

Another of the AOPA Scholarship is The Dudley D. and Delores R. Malone Memorial Flight Training Scholarship. The Dudley D. and Delores R. Malone Family Foundation, in honour of Dudley and Delores Malone. Dudley, an AOPA member and avid recreational flyer, received his pilot’s license when he was in his twenties. He was a lifelong entrepreneur who loved aircraft and anything that took to the skies.

For 54 years, Dudley’s wife Delores was his “co-pilot” in the air and in life.

Each of the four $5,000 awards

Females will receive two scholarships.
Males will receive two scholarships.

5. The Ceci Stratford Flight Training Scholarship

Ceci Stratford of Simi Valley, California, is a retired telecommunications, systems, and bank operations analyst who established the Ceci Stratford Flight Training Scholarship to promote aviation’s future.

Ceci is a CFI whose enthusiasm for flying extends to her volunteer activities, which include acting as previous Scholarship Chair for the San Fernando Valley 99s Chapter and current Scholarship Co-Chair for the 99s Southwest Section. She has given over 850 young people their first flights through the EAA’s Young Eagles program and is an advisor for the Aviation Explorers Post 747.

Ceci has mentored several student pilots in their quest of flight training scholarships and aviation professions, and she hopes to expand the number of women and girls in the aviation field.

H. Ross Perot Jr., through the Hillwood Development Company, LLC. Available to students enrolled in the Professional Pilot program at V. R. Eaton High School. This AOPA Scholarship is not one you want to miss out on.

  • At the time of application, you must be 16 years old.
  • A student in the 11th grade at V. R. Eaton High School in Fort Worth, Texas.
